Bethany in Relief Efforts

Sri lanka has been receiving continuous rain for the past week and a halt causing many areas in the island to be flooded. The slowness of the waters drying up has forced some people to leave their houses while some still live stranded as they have no place to go.

The flood victims are estimated to be more them 600,000 and the majority is in deep need for food and clean water. Arguably this has been the most devastating natural disaster after the tsunami that hit the island in 2004.

Many of our church believers also have been affected by the floods. Last week we made efforts to reach as many flood victims as we can with food and comfort.

Many accepted us with open arms as they had going win out food for couple of days.

The Bethany staff combined with some volunteers made the relief effort showing the true love of Jesus to the community.

We are helping to the same this week as well with the generous donation of our congregation.

Our sincere prayer is that everything will return to normal as soon as possible
